Interconnected

Interconnected was a community centred performance art piece in Rovaniemi, Finland where we created rituals for physical reconnection, finding new ways to create contact with our extended community in real life once again. The pandemic made random encounters increasingly scarce and attached fear and paranoia to public gatherings. Social distancing enclosed us with the people we lived with, magnifying our domestic interactions and isolated us from our friends and wider communities.

Interconnected proposed a space where we could gather with people again, familiar and new.

With the support of Arts Promotion Centre Taike we were able to organise a series of group walks through Rovaniemi whilst being connected by a large costume to enable new connections to form with the wider community.
